Seventh Inning Heat

Vegas Aces Book #1

March 2016

Growing up with a demanding Major Leaguer for a father, Vegas Aces pitcher Eric Weaver believes his only worth as a human being begins and ends on the mound.  But after two disappointing seasons, he knows there’s a trade deal with his name on it if he doesn’t improve his game. So, when team management tells him they’re bringing on a hot new pitching coach to tweak his technique, he grits his teeth and agrees to the humiliation of being coached like a Little Leaguer again. Until they tell him who the new coach is: a woman.

But not just any woman. The only woman he has ever loved.

He dipped his head to hover above her lips, barely touching. He nudged her mouth, and she nudged back. “I shouldn’t have gotten out of your car,” she whispered, the truth a tiny bomb inside her. “I should have fought for you.” He let his forehead drop to hers as his hand cupped her cheek.  “Then fight for me now.”
